Download checklist
Before you install the APK
The APK is only one part of the process. Initial root installation usually requires a compatible device, an unlocked bootloader, the correct stock firmware image, and a reliable recovery plan.
Confirm your exact device
Record model, codename, region/carrier variant, Android version, and build number. Similar names do not guarantee identical partitions.
Keep stock firmware
Have the correct factory firmware or ROM package available so you can restore original images if something goes wrong.
Back up important data
Bootloader unlocking and some manufacturer-specific procedures can perform a factory reset. Treat a backup as mandatory, not optional.
Release channels
Stable v30.7 or pre-release v31.0?
The stable channel is the default choice for most devices. A pre-release may contain newer platform compatibility or major app changes, but it can also introduce edge cases that have not been through the same stable-release cycle.
Magisk v31.0 is currently marked as a pre-release and includes a major app UI rewrite plus newer Android platform work. v30.7 remains the current stable release reference.
