Magisk Features Explained

Superuser control

MagiskSU

MagiskSU provides root access to applications. The Magisk app acts as the user-facing control point for superuser requests, allowing root privileges to be granted or denied on a per-app basis.

Systemless customization

Magisk Modules

Systemless approach

Why “systemless” matters

Historically, Android modifications often wrote changes directly into the system partition. Magisk popularized an approach that applies modifications through boot-time mounting and related techniques instead. This can make modifications more manageable, but it does not make rooting risk-free or invisible to every security check.

Root is still privileged access

Systemless does not mean harmless. Root-capable apps and modules can perform powerful operations. Treat every superuser grant and module install like installing administrator-level software on a computer.
